4 Shot at Howe Park Sacramento — Large Unauthorized Party Erupts in Gunfire
On April 18 2026, an unlawful gathering of multiple hundreds of attendees at the Howe Park area in the Arden-Arcade area of Sacramento became the scene of a shooting when an estimated 20 to 25 gunshots were fired as law enforcement officers were attempting to clearing the area.
What Happened
Around 6:30 in the evening, the Sacramento County Sheriff got reports regarding persons reportedly carrying concealed firearms at Howe Park. A second report described a possible physical altercation and individuals fleeing the scene.
An airship was dispatched and searched the park but failed to identify any ongoing altercation.
However, multiple hundreds of people had congregated at Howe Park for what law enforcement classified as an unlawful gathering. Responding deputies formed a perimeter around the park, illuminated the area with emergency lights, and dedicated around 15 minutes commanding the crowd to clear out over loudspeakers.
As deputies were in the process of dispersing attendees, upwards of 20 gunshots echoed through the area — triggering a panicked crowd in every direction.
Victims of the Shooting

Suspects
Over law enforcement radio traffic, it was established that a vehicle of interest — a Kia — was intercepted in the Solano County area with four suspects detained. Sacramento County Sheriff's units were here traveling to collect those detained and take them back to Sacramento County for investigation. Video evidence confirmed two separate shooters.
